About – Luna Wolves
The Name
The inspiration for the name came from a Warhammer 40k Chapter of the same name from the pre-heresy days.
The 40k Wikia page has some good back story and we can highly recommend the "Horus Heresy" series of books if you want to know more about the Luna Wolves. Horus Rising is the first in the series and follows the Luna Wolves and their leaders quite intently. Great read if you love Sci-Fi and/or the 40k universe.
The Team
The team currently consists of just 5 members however is looking to expand in the near future to a small squad of around 8 members with some regular(ish) play.
We play for fun and of course, to win while sticking by the core ethics and sportsmanship in Airsoft.
The Members
Nightwolf (aka Dan): By far and away the most veteran Airsoft player of us with 8-9 years Airsofting under his belt. Also co-owns and runs the only Airsoft site on the Isle of Wight. A great person to have near by when the **** really hits the fan.
Valkyrie (aka Kath): Other half of Nightwolf. Great player on and off the field. Usually found tending the "container" (aka sign on/shop) at Island Recon.
Bio (aka Andy): Just 3 years of play however is quick to learn and adapt to situations. Loves the technical aspect as much as the gameplay aspect and will bend your ear about the game and finer points of gearbox mechanics given the chance.
Darkie (aka Rosie): Partner of Bio, also 3 years of play. Some times seems to enjoy the gear more than the game but is always up for a good laugh and a fun game.
Kaiser (aka Mark): Quite mad. Pyro-technician and Marshal at Island Recon. Knows how to have a laugh and make others enjoy themselves.
The Sites
The Luna Wolves play along the south coast of the UK with their "home sites" being the UCAP CQB site and Island Recon.
It's not unknown for them to attend Ground Zero should the mood take them as well as other Woodland sites.
The Gear
Running a variety of Airsoft equipment means the Luna Wolves are able to adapt themselves to almost any situation. From Sniping to Support we can cover most areas, and due to the fine array of equipment we have between us, there is a good technical and mechanical knowledge for repairs and upgrades.
The gun favoured by most members however would be the Glock 18c (pretty much any gas blow back machine pistol really) due to the Fully Automatic ability as well as its compact size. Being great fun to use and sending chills up the spine of most that hear it is also a bonus
It's not all guns with us though as a good team can be rendered useless by poor comms. As standard we carry PMR446 compatible radios and headsets for distance communications allowing us to regroup if one of us happens to fall in battle.
